I’m a mother of one girl born in the hospital and one boy born at the birth center. Finding New Birth literally made my birthing dreams come true. I was a late transfer at 30 weeks and I was also turning 40 a month before my due date. I was being treated at my previous provider as a high-risk geriatric pregnancy. I was at an all-time low when I had my consult at New Birth Midwifery. During my consultation all my worries suddenly disappeared. I was told my birthing expectations and wishes were the standard at New Birth. I remember crying tears of joy on my way home from my consult as I had finally felt seen and heard for the type of birth I had envisioned and hoped for, everything that my other provider had diminished.
Every appointment with the midwives was like chatting with a friend and I would leave feeling so encouraged and empowered. As my due date approached and passed, the New Birth midwives walked me through exactly what to do when I had a few false alarms. When I went into labor, it came on very fast with little to no warning signs. My husband called the midwives with a 30 minute notice that we were going to be at the birth center in the early morning hours. Everything happened so quick, but Jennifer was there waiting for us.
I ended up having the beautiful water birth I had prayed for. During the birth, Jennifer was actively monitoring my son’s heartbeat while I was in the tub which brought me great comfort. After the birth me, my husband, and newborn son relaxed together in the queen bed. It was a very soothing, safe space to be in. I cannot say enough about how phenomenal the team of midwives are at New Birth Midwifery.
The at home check-ups were so convenient and completely alleviated any stress having to venture out with my baby. My husband and I joke about having more kids after we had decided this was our last one because of our experience. We are forever grateful that we found this birthing center and team!
