New Birth Midwifery (New Birth, we, us, or our) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and disclose information, including information collected when you consent to receive text messages from us.

We may disclose personal information when reasonably necessary to provide care, operate our practice, process payments, maintain our communication or technology systems, comply with applicable law, protect legal rights, or work with professional advisors and service providers performing services on our behalf. Service providers receiving information from us may use it only to perform the services for which they were engaged and must protect it appropriately.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

All information sharing described in this policy excludes mobile opt-in information and SMS consent. Mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in information, and consent to receive text messages will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not share mobile opt-in or SMS consent information with anyone for any purpose.

The statements above apply regardless of any other provision in this policy.

SMS Messaging Program

Clients may choose whether to receive informational and conversational text messages from New Birth Midwifery. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing or receiving services.

Messages may include:

  • Responses to simple medical questions
  • Requests for or responses concerning photographs voluntarily sent for review
  • Clarification regarding care instructions
  • Appointment scheduling, confirmation, or changes
  • Arrival-time or home-visit updates
  • Prenatal, postpartum, lactation, or other care coordination
  • Administrative information related to the client’s care

Message frequency varies depending on your care and communication needs. Message and data rates may apply.

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message. After you opt out, you may receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. To receive assistance, reply HELP or contact us using the information below.

Opting out of text messages will not affect your eligibility to receive care. We may communicate with you through another available method when necessary.

Text Message Privacy and Security

Text messaging may not always be a secure communication method. Please use discretion when sending sensitive personal or medical information by text. New Birth Midwifery takes reasonable steps to protect information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, but cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted through standard SMS or MMS messaging.

Text messages are intended for routine, nonurgent communication. Do not use text messaging for labor, urgent medical concerns, or emergencies. If you are in labor or have an urgent medical concern, call New Birth Midwifery at 952-856-0071 and select Extension 2. If you cannot reach a midwife or believe you are experiencing an emergency, call 911.

Retention and Protection of Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. Information may be retained as reasonably necessary to provide care, maintain required records, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, and comply with applicable legal requirements.

Your Choices

You may:

  • Decline to enroll in SMS messaging
  • Reply STOP to discontinue text messages
  • Reply HELP for assistance
  • Contact us to request an update or correction to your contact information
  • Ask questions about our privacy practices

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted with a revised effective date.
