Newlife International School of Midwifery

Mercy Maternity Center

What is it?

The birth center in the Philippines where Jenny received midwifery training.

What do they do?

They serve women and families who live well under the poverty line by providing them with very low cost pregnancy, birth and baby care, all the while training midwives like me to gain the skills necessary to open their own practices either stateside or even going to other countries were the need is great for skilled birth.

What are the costs involved in providing this kind of care?

The women pay only for their medical supplies, so approximately $15 per birth or less, but donations given make up the difference as one birth costs about $50 total.
